ITECHMER 2023, A FISHING EXHIBITION FOCUSING ON TRANSITIONS
The international trade show for the fisheries professionals will return on October 11-12-13, 2023 at the Lorient Bretagne Sud Exhibition Center. Expected by the entire industry, ITECHMER 2023 is once again the business show and the essential meeting place for the fishing industry in France. This 15th edition will be marked by the guideline «Innovate to transform the sea sector» and will be the demonstration of an industry that is building a new future.
THE FISHERMEN’S EXHIBITION
The French and European maritime fishing industry has undergone many changes and has always shown great resilience when facing difficulties. The sector has been able to modernize, preserve resources, enhance the value of production, and improve the condition of seafarers, with the aim of sustainable development. The fishing port of Lorient-Keroman has thus become a leading international hub and has developed its maritime industries.
New challenges must be addressed due to the energy crisis, the climate emergency, and the need to preserve the oceans. Supported by the local authorities and the industry’s players, ITECHMER 2023 will fully assume its role as a business exhibition and facilitator expected by a sector in full transition.
ITECHMER 2023 will be the economic and institutional meeting place for the fishing industry. Shipyards, ports, engine manufacturers, equipment suppliers for catching, safety, electronics, processing, packaging, transporters, and service companies… Most of the 210 exhibitors present in 2021 have planned to return and new companies are interested in the tradeshow.
AN INTERNATIONAL EVENT AND A SHOWCASE FOR INNOVATION
ITECHMER 2023 will welcome professional visitors from all over the French coastline, from the northern coasts to the overseas territories. International delegations are expected from North and West Africa, Northern Europe, and the Sultanate of Oman, which is coming to meet French industrialists for the development of its fishing center in the port of Duqm.
ITECHMER 2023 will be focused on transformation and innovation, both in terms of the equipment and services on offer and in terms of its program of meetings and conferences : energy savings and decarbonization; port optimization; reduction of the impact of activities on the environment; governance; access to resources. An important place will also be given to the new generation who will be looking at the sector.
New this year, the «Escales ITECHMER» organized with the Festival Pêcheurs du Monde will encourage discussions between the generations before and during the show. For the first time, pitch sessions will be held to present innovations and the ITECHMER Innovation Awards will be given to exhibitors.
Registration is underway and exhibitors benefit from a reduced rate until 31 March 2023.
