THE FISHERMEN’S SHOW
As part of the preparations for the next edition of the show, ITECHMER convened a committee of professionals for the first time. This unprecedented meeting in Lorient in April provided opportunity for fruitful dialogue between fishermen from different backgrounds and equipment manufacturers. Highly appreciated, this initiative underlines ITECHMER’s determination to serve the fishing industry, to promote the involvement of fishermen in a sustainable future and to create synergies between professionals and manufacturers. In 2025, ITECHMER will continue to give priority to fishermen by giving them a
voice, proposing technical discussions and concrete solutions, encouraging direct interaction and addressing subjects that are essential for the future of the industry.

A PROGRAMME FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE OF THE MARITIME SECTOR
With the Third United Nations Conference on the Oceans (UNOC 3) taking place in Nice in just a few days’ time, ITECHMER 2025, under the banner of ‘La mer en commun’ (The sea in common), also aims to help mobilise all stakeholders in the sustainable use of the ocean. As such, ITECHMER 2025 will be organised around three themed days based on the theme of ‘A whole sector committed to the sea’.
The commercial fishing trade show is also expanding its scope by fully integrating the marine renewable energy and decarbonisation fields. ITECHMER, the meeting place for maritime professionals, will be focusing on practical solutions and feedback from professionals to provide answers to the current challenges facing the sector..
Wednesday 15th October 2025: ‘French fisheries: plural and sustainable’. The first day will be focused on the diversity of fishing models and the specific characteristics of the different maritime façades, both in Metropolitan France and overseas. The focus is on best practices, on-the-ground initiatives and the sustainable management of fisheries resources, driven by the professionals themselves.
Thursday 16th October 2025: ‘Climate and transitions: the sea, a driving force for innovation’. The aim is to present concrete solutions to support the energy, social and economic transition: selectivity, decarbonisation, impact reduction, new technologies, etc.
Friday 17th October 2025: ‘Fisheries policy: what path for the future ?’ The aim of this final day is to provide professionals with a clearer picture of regulatory developments and the strategic challenges ahead.

This conference program will strive to give a voice to all stakeholders in the industry (fishermen, industrialists, institutions, scientists) to encourage dialogue and collectively build a sustainable maritime future.

Several high points will mark these days:

  • Fishing, a youth issue! a no-holds-barred discussion between professionals and young people from maritime secondary schools, who will be sharing their views and asking questions about the issues that concern them.
  • Innovation pitches jointly facilitated by the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique and France Filière Pêche
  • Film screenings in partnership with the Festival Pêcheurs du Monde
  • The ‘ITECHMER Innovation Trophy’ will be awarded to the most innovative solutions offered by exhibitors to promote a sustainable and responsible maritime industry.
