New logo, new visual identity and new website to convey the ambitions of the International Fishing Sector Trade Show: ITECHMER


ITECHMER “the international fishing industry trade show”

ITECHMER is the only international trade show in France devoted to fishing technologies, equipment and services. From capture/production to processing, from ship-building to sales, via R&D, training, administration, ports, etc., this event showcases the whole sector, its latest developments and innovations. An economic and institutional event, ITECHMER offers business opportunities and exchange on current issues in the sector.

SEGEPEX, the company that manages the Parc des Expositions Lorient Bretagne Sud, and owner and organiser of ITECHMER, is continuing to make every effort to attract fishing industry decision-makers and stakeholders to this event, both nationally and from Europe and abroad. The goal is to ensure that ITECHMER is the single, unmissable event in the fishing industry calendar and to meet the expectations of its exhibitors, visitors and partners.

ITECHMER has decided to change its visual identity to modernise its image and give it greater impact and energy. The change to the visual identity includes the logo, the posters for the 2019 Show and a new website.


The new ITECHMER logo is comprised of 3 elements:

¬ The brand: ITECHMER
¬ The base line: >>> LORIENT I FRANCE
¬ The graphic: a stylised representation of a fish
These elements are indissociable.

The new visual identity has been designed by the Lorient agency SMAC.
The agency proposed a dynamic logo that expresses the modernity and technicity of this trade show for fishing sector professionals.
The deep blue represents the ocean, and the orange symbolises the technical nature of the industry’s professions.
For greater visibility, the logo has been made simple to allow an important place for the logo, in the form of a sketch.

2019 Poster

As part of the logo change, the 2019 poster has also been redesigned, to reflect the modernity and dynamic of the fishing industry as a whole. Represented on a background of a marine chart used by sailors and fishermen, points mention the various aspects of the fishing sector: sustainable fishing, harbour facilities, aquaculture, shipyards, logistics, process, safety, innovation.

An English version of this poster is also available to target an international audience.



The new visual identity has also been applied to the new website

Several parameters have been taken into account:
– Site completely redesigned to promote natural referencing,
– Completely responsive site for smartphones and tablets,
– One entire site by language (French and English) to promote international referencing (international target and promotion of delegations).

o A press area to highlight sector news


New social media strategy

Finally, the revamped communication for the ITECHMER trade show includes a “social media” presence to help develop exhibitor and visitor participation at this trade show.
